| Olympia Washington has more to offer than one might first expect. Located between Seattle and Portland Oregon, Olympia is alive with its own independent brand of style. Numerous neighborhoods, such as the westside, eastside, south capitol, and downtown house people that work for the state, in one of the three area colleges, or in the upcoming lacey tech industries. Attractions include the Olympia Farmers Market, the Washington State Capitol Campus, and a city run Japanese Garden. The town has numerous events that have grown beyond the bounds of the city - the Procession of Species and LadyFest are now being celebrated in dozens of cities across the nation and in europe. Being on the saltwater, Olympia makes for a wonderful seaside town , right at the foothills of capitol forest. In addition, the sound brings things like tug boat races and a wooden boat festival. Many have said that people in Olympia have a certain DIY spirit - perhaps its out of necessity, or perhaps, just maybe, its the water. |
